Example #4 - Final showdown

Take a good look at the complete layout and you'll see that South has virtually no other lead against a NT contract except a small D.
In that case you have 9 solid tricks: let the D lead run to the DQ, take a S finesse, grab the D return with the DA in dummy, cross to the HA, take another S finesse and claim 9 tricks.

Sounds far-fetched to you? It didn't to Aruf ... he bid 3NT and gathered his 9 tricks in no time at all.
